The Story Behind The Brand

The creation of Ulv Custom Works is a several-decades-old story that dates back to the early 2000's when Ulv's founder, Peter Trask, discovered his passion for making things in Middle School shop class. Driven by his hunger for creativity and tangible progress, he always loved building and designing.

Fast forward to 2005 when he had the ability to join Woodshop as a Sophomore in high school and that love for designing and creative process was given an outlet. From Adirondack Chairs to wooden bats, candlesticks to cutting boards, he loved every minute of it.

Throughout the years he honed his craft, introducing new tools and new techniques to his repertoire, stretching his expertise to epoxy work and laser engraving to compliment the woodworking he loved so much.

Nearly 20 years later, Peter decided it was time to make his passion a reality and formed Ulv Custom Works.

Working with clients to bring their imaginations and visions to reality, Ulv Custom Works provides a top to bottom design process to ensure you get what you want instead of having to stick to a limited number of pre-selected options like so many sellers on Etsy.
Behind The Wolf
To understand the imagery and branding behind the name, you first have to learn a little about the founder, Peter Trask. Growing up he was always fascinated with the Wolf. A highly intelligent, highly loyal, animal whose primary goal is to put the pack above all else, the wolf resonated in both a personal and professional capacity. Also, while the wolf is often seen as an apex predator in the animal kingdom, there is so much more to them under the surface.

Want to be a lone-wolf and build your very own customized product? Or do you want to identify your "pack" with a group order?
It all starts here.

Behind The Name
Family means everything to Peter, it is the strong, ever-present, foundation to his life.

He has always been proud of his Danish heritage and wanted to pay an homage to the grandparents who helped shape his life and love of golf. That is why he used the Danish word for wolf as the primary name of the company.
